Teaching

Teaching Statement

Teaching in social sciences is (often) about linking theoretical considerations with societal “real-life” issues. Thus, I prefer to combine conceptual and empirical phases within a seminar, linking theoretical understanding of a phenomenon from a sociological and/or organizational perspective with the opportunity for students to engage in their own empirical discoveries. My aim is to balance both to ensure that students understand how social sciences build on theorizing societal phenomena, but always with some sort of practical consideration in mind. To uncover real-life application of theorized knowledge, and, in a nutshell, the applicability of social science is what I want to convey to my students.
